Tom Wilhelmsen was called up today and I don't have too much to say about that because he's really struggled with his command. Kyle Seager was also recalled to take the spot when Chone Figgins went on the DL with the hip flexor thing, and that's good because Seager has had no issues with the PCL.

Las Vegas 6 (TOR - 1), Tacoma 2
Whoopsidaisy. LHP Nate Robertson (7.20, L) pitched seven innings but gave up four runs on six hits (HR), two walks, a wild pitch, and five Ks. RHP Shawn Kelley (0.00) had a perfect eighth, which was about as positive as the news got. RHP Jarrett Grube (8.31) then let two score on four hits and a walk in the ninth.
2B Luis Rodriguez (HR, .300) hit himself a dinger, so that's something. C Jose Yepez (.304) had a hit and two walks and DH Wily Mo Pena (.360) had a single and a walk. SS Sean Kazmar (2B, RBI, .258) doubled. Saunder had to abruptly leave the game due to personal matters, which is terrible news. My thoughts are with him. It's been a rough year.

Mississippi 6 (ATL - 2), Jackson 0
Since Wilhelmsen was scheduled to take this one and he obviously couldn't, RHP Moises Hernandez (6.35, L) got the spot and went four innings with it with two runs scoring on four hits, a couple of walks, and four Ks, which isn't inherently bad. RHP Stephen Penney (5.50) then let two more plate on three hits, a wild pitch, a hit batter, a walk, and two Ks. He's struggled way more with the double-A transition than I thought he would. LHP Edward Paredes (5.01) had two unearned runs score in the final three on three hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and four Ks.
LF Vinnie Catricala (SB, A, .369) had a hit and a walk but I find the stolen base and the assist more interesting.

High Desert 8, Lake Elsinore 6 (SD + 8)
RHP Chris Sorce (4.45) pitched seven scoreless innings with three hits, a wild pitch, a hit batter, six walks, and three Ks. I don't get it. RHP Keli'i Zablan (12.27) then faced four batters and had a hit and three walks, all of which scored, three of them under the watch of RHP Austin Hudson (5.75), who had a run score on two hits and two hit batters in two-thirds of an inning. RHP Daniel Cooper (5.25 S) saved it with a run scoring on a hit in the final inning and a third.
DH Jack Marder (2B, 2 R, RBI, .367), LF-1B Mario Martinez (PO, .289), 3B Steve Proscia (HR, 2 R, .254), and CF Denny Almonte (R, RBI, .277) all had two hits and Mar Mar and Proscia even added walks. Proscia's average isn't so hot, but nearly half his hits have gone for extras and he's hitting better in away games. I'm pleased. 2B Leury Bonilla (HR, 3 RBI, .222) had a home run, though I'd rather he be playing at a higher level, and feel the same ways about RF James McOwen (E, .000) who is now back in the Cal League and walked twice. C Trevor Coleman (R, E, .270) had a single and a walk. He could also be in double-A.

Clinton 1, Wisconsin 2 (MIL - 7)
RHP George Mieses (4.87, L) pitched seven innings with two runs scoring on five hits (HR) and a walk and if you think I'm omitting something there, I'm not, because he didn't strike out anyone and has gone back to doing that again it seems. RHP Matt Bischoff (4.29, PO) had a walk and a K in the eighth.
2B Stefen Romero (.271) had two singles and 3B Jake Schlander (2B, .140) doubled.

Everett 3, Yakima 5 (ARI - 3)
They made one error and we made five. That pretty well covers it. LHP Bennett Whitmore (5.21, E, L) let four runs (three earned) plate on seven hits (HR), a wild pitch, a walk, and two Ks. RHP Joe DiRocco (4.19, E) then had a hit through the next inning and two-thirds, and RHP Bryan Leigh (3.94) had a solo shot, one other hit, and a K in the eighth. Leigh and Whitmore both gave up home runs to the same guy, whom I am prepared to hate going forward but not as much as if he played for an organization that was in any way relevant to us.
3B Ramon Morla (2B, 2 RBI, E, .328) had two hits, which is neat. LF Mario Yepez (2B, R, .331) and 1B Jharmidy de Jesus (2B, R, E, .324) both had doubles and DH James Wood (RBI, .270) had a hit and a walk.

VSL Phillies 2 (- 2), Aguirre Mariners 9
LHP Luis Pina (3.69) gave up two runs on three hits and two Ks in four innings and then RHP Rafael Carrera (3.35, W) took the rest and went to 4-0 on the season, two hits, two Ks.
RF Alexy Palma (2 R, RBI, .258) and 2B Pedro Okuda (R, 2 RBI, SB, .258) both had a hit and three walks and ended up at an equal average. Stuff like that happens all the time. Also my pants seem to be on fire. CF Rashynol Michel (R, RBI, SB, .216) had three hits, which happens a little more often. 3B Ramon Coronel (R, .354) had two walks, DH Yordi Calderon (RBI, .278) had a single and a walk, and C Ricardo Gonzalez (R, RBI, .167) and 1B Jose Kalbakgi (R, .195) both had a couple of hits.

The DSL game was postponed and will be made up when you least expect it.
